The standard single head machine has been designed to polish marble, stones and soft granite. When equipped with the optional satellite head it can also be used for hard granites: the satellite head can be fitted without any modification to the already installed machine. The unit travels on rails which can be extended 3 mt. each time, as desired, thus allowing for several plates to be processed. Four programs are availbale, each carefully studied in order to make the polishing of any kind of material easy. By first program the slab's contour is attained while by the following ones different paths of the machine, can be programmed. The machine lift automatically the head when the programs set for one slab are at the end and shift automatically to the next slabs. Machine is stopped by a special device when the abrasives are worn out. Constructed in high quality cast-iron with five grinding satellite-heads. Particular care and attention has been taken to the design of this new "special head", in view of the fact that experience has proved that this vital part of the machine is the most susceptible to wear. The exceptionally sturdy shaft of the satellite-heads are fitted on heavy-duty ball-bearings and are made of tempered steel. A new and watertight coupling system enables the plate to adjust perfectly to the surface of the slab. The plate is also provided with a "quick release" attachment for the fitting of a felt or head-holding plate. The same attachment can also be used to fit stone-holding plates (Frankfurt type) enabling the operator to switch rapidly from granite to marble production avoiding a lenghty change-over process. All the rotating parts are dynamically balanced.
