STAR "V" MACHINERY'S Model SLG-2LB Linear V-Groover is designed to v-groove various wood materials, wood composites or plastics such as solid surface. V-Folds to create a build-up front edge, cove back splash profile, scribe strip, dado for back panel, double edge shelving etc. Other v-groove angles besides the standard 90° can easily be employed. Two cutter stations allow for rapid profile changes without any downtime! Switching from front edge profile to the cove back slash profile for solid surface countertops is being accomplished within seconds by a push of a button. The tape, which acts as the hinge for miter folding, is applied automatically and cut to length. The feeder belt moves the material over high-precision, stainless steel roller table, which minimizes friction and reduces or eliminates marring of the material. The v-groove is being applied from above. Both linear as well as cross cuts up to 14-16" away from the fixed fence are possible. First grooving head is mounted in front of the heavy duty, precision machined overhead beam of 8" x 12" x ½" thick, heat-treated steel, second head is mounted in the back of the beam, pneumatically controlled head controls allow for rapid vertical head positioning when using (2) different cutter profiles, head side movement via hand crank on linear rail & bearings on precision machined beam and ACME thread screw with 0.001" accuracy, digital readout scale and pneumatic lock of head positioning, head height adjustment on linear rail & bearings, manual fine tuning via ACME screw with dial indicator gauge with 0" backlash. DC high ratio gear drive unit for variable feed rate from 0 - 40 FPM, double width feeder belt moves work piece on high precision, stainless steel rollers, raising & lowering of feeder mechanism for optimum friction via manual gear drive. Machine base equipped with anti-vibration, anti-noise leveling pads. Complete with: Fixed fence, cleaning brush, cutter guard and emergency shut-off line along the machine bed, automatic tape applicator with 14" tape diameter capacity and all controls. Dust collection requirements 700 CFM (1,400 CFM with both heads running), 3" diameter dust chute on cutter guard, compressed air requirements 80 PSI.
